After spending many years working at
restoration and collision shops for different people, Pat Foust finally had
enough and decided to open up his own shop.
On January 1, 1991, Classic Restorations opened for
business. Working solely by himself for many years he finally decided to hire a
few employees. Then, in 1997, an opportunity to go to work for the local Ford
truck plant came about and couldn’t be passed up. He kept the shop open with his
employees running it when he was gone.
In
1999, Pat’s
son, Dustin, at the young age of 12 was ready to begin working on the weekends
and in the summer. This worked out well for awhile, but as they say, when the
cats away the mice shall play, and work quality began to fade and Pat found
himself redoing much of the work to make it right.
Then in 2004, he had had enough and decided to make
the shop only open part time.
He got rid of all of his employees and made it a
father and son business. With him and his son, now 17, working nights and
weekends it took awhile to do a car but the quality and workmanship was there.
The word by now was definitely out that
this was the shop to bring your car to in the area as the waiting list was ever
growing. Now, in 2008, with Dustin being a full time college student and having
a little more time to work, the pace has picked up some and business is better
than ever. With the word now spreading even further, thanks to some awards won
at GoodGuys PPG Nationals and some magazine coverage on Dustin’s 65’ Fastback,
it was definitely time for a website to let the whole world know about Classic
Restorations and the work we do. In time we hope to draw from all over the U.S.
and become just as common as Rad Rides or any other “big name” shops.
So, take some time to look around the
site and see what you think.
If
you like what you see give us a call or e-mail us and maybe we can restify your
ride.
